Velocity always increases its support staff to accommodate the needs and demands of its customers. Communication between staff is a priority for Velocity and ensures that the customers are taken care of promptly. They are quick to escalate any issues to specific vendors so that customers can continue their day-to-day business with minimal interruptions.
Having been in IT for over 18 years and always willing to learn more from new projects, I was first attracted to Velocity as a sub-contractor. With more experience, I ultimately joined the company as a full-time employee.
The opportunity to manage various projects and different people as a lead tech has become a favorite part of my job. My position at Velocity allows me to apply my skills, learn new things and build relationships with many people who have become not just coworkers but also friends.
As a lead field tech, I have the opportunity to troubleshoot, solve and even implement new fixes for many types of IT related issues. I work with a support team that is both knowledgeable and helpful in completing my everyday tasks. Thanks to Velocity’s vast support system, I can be certain that, if I need to reach out to anyone for escalation and/or guidance, there will be someone available at all times.
On a daily basis, I enjoy knowing that when I show up to a customer’s site, they’re happy to see someone with an understanding of their infrastructure and the ability to fix their issues. I’m fortunate to service familiar customers in my area, and it makes my daily tasks a lot easier and convenient as I get to work with friendly staff at different sites. Having the flexibility to work at other times of the day also makes it easier to accommodate our customers and work on their schedules.
Working at Velocity has many positive aspects that would attract anyone to join their family. The one thing that surprised me most was the willingness to take an employee’s input into consideration when working on various projects or even daily tasks. Knowing that you’re working with a team that allows you to put your expertise and experiences to use is a great feeling at the end of the day.
My favorite part of being a lead field tech is the opportunity to work in multiple locations. This allows me to put all my diverse skills to use and learn many new things daily. It also allows me to work with other support teams that are happy to share their knowledge and experiences just as I do with them.
